Haflinger | Kumfs | Birkenstock | Dr. Scholl’s | Söfft
Women’s plantar fasciitis shoes are now made by a variety of manufacturers. I know. My wife spent 3 years and hundreds of dollars trying to find the right shoes that relieved her plantar fasciitis pain. Any shoe or shoe brand recommended on this page is there because my wife tried them and they worked or she heard from enough people who had plantar fasciitis that they worked for them. (If you were looking for Men’s Shoes…)
Keep in mind that while her plantar fasciitis shoes are generally for daily wear or casual wear (or just around the house in the case of her plantar slippers), you can make your other shoes work for you too by using:
- plantar fasciitis inserts
- plantar supports (arch supports)
- plantar heel cups
There are also theraputic products you can use to prevent waking up with that intense heel pain such as wearing plantar fasciitis night splints. You can also learn more about foot health by reading some excellent plantar fasciitis books on foot massage, exercises and fasciitis treatment you can use to heal plantar fasciitis. You have plenty of options.
But now, on to the best shoes for plantar fasciitis…
Haflinger
Lisa absolutely swears by her Haflingers. Around the house and for ordinary knocking around, you won’t find her in anything else. While they don’t make much in the way of dress shoes, for casual wear, you won’t find a better shoe for relieving your plantar fasciitis. (HInt: Lisa says shoes with cork soles are best for plantar fasciitis. But of course, there are exceptions. She won’t wear Haflingers or Birkenstocks on stage.)
Here are a few Halflinger examples:

Birkenstocks
Birkenstocks are almost legendary for their comfort and foot health. And there’s a darn good reason for it. The shoes are incredibly comfortable and yes, very healthy for your feet. When it comes to healing your foot pain, they’re awfully difficult to pass up. If you’ve never tried a pair, this might be the right time. Just ask yourself how many times you’ve heard of a woman who will not give up her Birkenstocks for anything!

Kumfs Shoes
While Lisa loves her Haflingers, she also believes Kumfs are just as good and told me to make sure they were on the list. Again, with some of the Kumfs you’ve got the contoured cork footbeds. For some reason, the cork seems to give a much better feeling shoe than any man-made material. And nothing else seems to work as well for relieving and curing your plantar fasciitis. Here’s some nice examples of Kumfs. As you can see, they’re a bit dressier. In fact, Lisa performs on stage in the Mary Jane-style Kumfs shown below (and no, this isn’t a cork-bed shoe but it works great for two hour performances.)

Dr. Scholl’s Shoes
Certainly everyone has heard of Dr. Scholl’s. A line of shoes designed in consultation with a podiatrist. That’s a pretty strong recommendation. However, Lisa never tried these shoes. Therefore, we can’t say for sure that they work for plantar fasciitis. But I’d say that the odds are pretty good that a podiatrist designed shoe sole should do your feet a world of good.

Söfft Shoes
This is the latest shoe brand addition to our plantar fasciitis collection. The reason I added this brand is because my wife has been performing almost non-stop for the last month in Germany, Texas and Minnesota. We were getting ready to go to her latest performance and I asked her how her feet were holding up and she told me, “Great,” and pulled up her velvet skirt to show me her stage shoes. They were really nice looking shoes so I asked her what they were. “Söfft,” she said. “With two f’s and an umlaut over the ö. I love them. I can stand for hours on those old marble floors in the European cathedrals and my feet don’t even get tired. Aren’t they pretty shoes?” all I could say after that was, “Yes dear, they’re very pretty shoes.” Have a look for yourself…
